Viet Nam Japan AI Hackathon

TOKYO, Japan – December 13, 2025 – The Grand Final (Demo Day) of the Viet Nam Japan AI Hackathon 2025 successfully concluded today at the Tokyo Innovation Base (TiB). The event brought together eight outstanding finalist teams from the Vietnamese tech community in Japan, showcasing groundbreaking Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions to a distinguished audience of industry leaders, investors, and technology experts.

A Premier Tech Playground for the Community

As the first competition dedicated to highly applicable AI solutions for the Vietnamese IT engineering community in Japan, the event attracted over 200 in-person attendees and hundreds of online viewers via livestream. It underscored the growing influence of Vietnamese engineers in Japan's high-tech sector. Guests included representatives from leading tech corporations such as FPT, CMC, Rikkei, and Digital Wallet, alongside esteemed professors and AI researchers.

This follows the highly successful Pitch Day held on November 22, where 16 teams initially competed. Their compelling presentations, focusing on solving real-world problems through Generative AI, demonstrated the exceptional professional capability and creative spirit of the community.

Vision and Expert Insights

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Tat Dat, President of the Vietnam Japan AI Community (VJAI), emphasized: This competition is more than a contest; it is an effort to build a robust AI ecosystem. It is a place where Vietnamese engineers can connect, experiment, realize their ideas, and contribute human-centric solutions to both Japanese and Vietnamese societies.

The event also featured in-depth insights from industry experts:

  • Mr. Dao Thanh Binh (Managing Director, FPT Data & AI Integration – FPT Japan) delivered a keynote on "From Hype to Hack: Building the Next AI Frontier," sharing strategies to transition AI from buzzwords to impactful applications.

  • Mr. Nguyen Hai Duong (COO, VTI Japan) presented on "AI - Trends and Opportunities," providing a comprehensive overview of the current AI landscape and future potential for businesses and developers.

  • Mr. Bui Viet Ha (Deputy Head of Global Business Division, CMC Japan) discussed "AI in Software Engineering," highlighting the pivotal role of AI in modern software development workflows.

  • Mr. Trinh Tuan Tu (CEO, Pionero) presented "AI Implementation in Enterprises and the Role of AI Workforce," stressing that human talent remains the key driver in digital transformation.

Breakthrough Ideas and Live Demonstrations

The Grand Final adopted a rigorous format where each of the Top 8 teams had 23 minutes on stage—including a 15-minute presentation with a live product demonstration (MVP), followed by an intense 10-minute Q&A session with the Jury. This format challenged teams to prove not just their concepts, but the technical viability of their solutions in real-time.

Notable solutions included:

  • Team W・H・O: Impressed with IPA SmartSD, a solution acting as a "digital brain" that automatically structures fragmented project documents into a unified system.

  • Team Visionary: Showcased Auraye, a 360-degree active environmental warning device for the visually impaired.

  • Team N.ONE: Introduced DoraRoji, an AI companion robot for the elderly, demonstrating natural interaction and support for daily activities.

  • Team Iruka Education: Presented a personalized gamified education solution for preschoolers.

  • Team 3143: Delivered a vivid pitch for ElderGuard, an AI application for early accident and stroke detection.

  • Team V-Legal: Demonstrated the V-Legal lawyer search platform, connecting users to legal aid in just 10 seconds.

  • Team Revenue Is King: Presented Kaidan, an AI chatbot providing website optimization recommendations.

  • Team MiTa: Won over the audience with GPeti Smartwatch, combining a virtual pet with health and lifestyle management.

Honoring the Champions

Following a vibrant Panel Discussion, the final results were announced based on creativity, feasibility, product completion, and practical application:

  • CHAMPION: MiTa (Project: GPeti Smartwatch)
